The Church of St John of Nepomuk is situated in Kanovnická Street very close to Hradčany Square.
The church was built in the years 1720 – 1728 initially as the church of the Convent of St Ursula. It was actuallz one of the first constructions built by the famous Czech architect K. I. Dienzenhofer (1689 – 1751) in Prague, who constructed, among others, buildings such as the St Nicholas church in the Old Town Square, Goltz-Kinsky Palace or St Bartholomew church in the Old Town.
The churche’s interior is decorated with frecos bz V.V. Reiner dating back to the first half of the 18th century depicting the life and miracles of St John of Nepomuk. The altar paintings are the works of Michal Willmann and Jan K. Liska.
